After years of trying to hunt down maté drinks across London’s nooks and crannies, our founder Vicky decided to take the matter into her own hands and create one herself, in the most wholesome way she can. She took her father Igor with her (who lied on his CV about his Spanish skills!) to a month-long adventure deep into the rich, terracotta lands of South America visiting farmers, enthusiasts, charities or anyone that would host them. In spite of some language barriers, they were lucky enough to connect with many amazing humans, passionate, and as eager to share their knowledge as they are to share their maté cup.
Vicky fell in love with the maté of Paraguay, strong, bright and sweet, just like the people who grow it and who welcomed them throughout their journey with their arms and hearts open wide. As the birthplace of yerba maté, the country’s little-known yet rich history is steeped in it. We want to bring you the Guaraní’s Drink of the Gods the best way that we can, with appreciating and supporting the wonderful soils, hard working hands and generous shades of trees continuing their hard work though centuries. We want to share our journey, our knowledge and our passion with you in a beautiful, convenient bottle for you to empower you on any journey of your own.
